Diagnostic Tests
Hurley Medical Center provides a full-service, non-invasive vascular lab conveniently situated next to the Vascular Center offering the following services:
PVD/PAD Screenings:
Used to identify peripheral vascular disease/peripheral artery disease
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI)
- Non-invasive arterial studies
- Segmental pressures - Similar to ABI but uses 2 or 3 additional blood pressure cuffs placed below the knee, above the knee, and at the upper thigh.
Vascular Ultrasound:
Used for detection of blockages (stenosis) of blood vessels, blood clots (DVT), carotid artery stenosis (narrowing of blood vessels), enlarged arteries (aneurysm), source of varicose veins, and post procedural follow-up for stents, grafts and bypasses.
- Abdominal imaging (mesenteric, for example)
- Carotid imaging
- Renal imaging
- Venous ultrasound
Angiography Procedures (Imaging of Blood Vessels):
Used to examine the internal organs of the abdomen, including the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and kidneys.
- Catheter Angiography
- CT Angiography
- MRI Angiography
