Family Ambulatory Health Center houses four separate clinics that provide the highest level of clinical care to patients with general medical needs, broken bones, wound care, and follow-up care after surgery. Located on the 9th Floor of Hurley Medical Center, Family Ambulatory Health Center is home to the following clinics:
Hurley Internal Medicine (IM) Clinic
This is the primary home of the ambulatory care education component of the Internal Medicine resident education program. Under the direction of Hurley Attending Physicians, IM resident physicians try to prevent illness by offering periodic exams, health screenings and wellness education. The IM Clinic offers general medical care for people age 18 and older including:
- Acute care services
- Chronic disease management
- Emotional problems
- General medicine
- Immunizations
- Minor injuries, cuts, fractures
- Minor procedures and diagnostic testing
- Opportunities to participate in research projects
- Physical examinations
- Skin diseases
Hurley Orthopedic Clinic
Patients of all ages who have been seen in the Hurley Emergency Department for a broken bone are referred to this trauma services follow-up clinic for continuation of care. A team of orthopedic residents specializing in trauma services provide care to patients under the direction of a Hurley Attending Orthopedic Surgeon.
Hurley Surgical Clinic
This clinic provides follow-up care to patients seen in the Hurley Emergency Department or Hurley Medical Center with surgical wounds and concerns. A team specializing in trauma services, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants, provides surgical consultation to patients.
Hurley Wound and Ostomy Care Clinic
This clinic specializes in treating chronic and acute non-healing wounds often caused by diabetes, poor circulation, or other conditions. Ostomy services include preoperative counseling and stoma site marking, post-operative pouch adjustment and fitting, pouch adhering, and skin issues.
