Prehabilitation
Prehabilitation can help prevent injury and make recovery faster and better
Prehabilitation is designed to help prevent injuries and—when orthopedic surgery is necessary—to strengthen the muscles and tissues in order to make post-surgery recovery and rehabilitation faster and more effective.
Benefits of prehabilitation
Depending upon your specific condition, circumstances and goals, your prehabilitation program may be designed to achieve any or all of the following goals:
- Build muscle strength
- Achieve correct muscle balance
- Use muscle groups in a specific sequence
- Boost the efficiency of movement patterns
- Enhance joint mobility
- Improve flexibility
- Enhance proprioception, which is the ability to sense the position of different joints in relation to the rest of the body
