Joint Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is a joint effort.
At the Hurley Center for Joint Replacement, our patients are at the center of a full post-operative rehabilitation team. Together with your surgeon, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and coaches, we work together to achieve a successful outcome.
Our one-on-one care begins with a dedicated nurse in the patient’s room. The nurse will encourage you to begin using the new joint as soon as possible. A physical therapist will tailor an exercise plan specifically for your needs.
Choose your own personal coach.
At The Center for Joint Replacement, we see a personal coach as an integral member of your caregiving team. We encourage patients to select a family member or friend to act as a coach and support them throughout the process. From pre-operative preparation through post-surgery recovery and rehabilitation, your personal coach helps with your bedside care, exercises and treatment plan. We have found that this shared experience can lead to a better outcome.
Begin your Outpatient Rehabilitation
Upon discharge, your surgeon may recommend continued rehabilitation at one of Hurley’s three outpatient rehabilitation centers, which provide a great way to continue physical therapy and regain mobility. After four to six weeks you are going to eligible for a free month at the Hurley Health and Fitness Center to help you continue to maximize your strength and mobility.
Continue your rehabilitation at Hurley Health and Fitness Center--the region's only medically-based fitness facilty
Following your immediate, post-operative rehabilitation, we also offer pool therapy at the Hurley Health & Fitness Center (HHFC). HHFC is an outstanding fitness facility which provides general fitness and exercise opportunities.
