Trauma Professional Education
The Level 1 Trauma Center at Hurley Medical Center is dedicated to the ongoing professional development of physicians, residents, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics and medical students, in Michigan and across the United States.
For additional post-graduate study, we also offer:
- physician assistant trauma residency
- trauma and burn residency rotation for surgical residents
- trauma fellowship
Continuing medical education enables our Level 1 Trauma Center surgeons, clinical practitioners and other staff to stay absolutely current in the area of trauma care and medicine. Trauma staff regularly participate in, and often lead, the following CME/CEU courses offered at Hurley:
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Pre-Hospital Life Support (PHTLS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Monthly Multidisciplinary Trauma Conference
- Monthly Trauma Peer Review Meeting
- Monthly Surgical Critical Care Conference
