March 30-Miss Michigan, Elizabeth Wertenberger, along with ABC12's Matt Franklin, Kevin Goff and Lori Dougovito donned chefs' hats and  helped grill up proceeds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Bd's Mongolian Grill in Flint Township on March 28th. The fundraiser was hosted by Swartz Creek teen Alex Ray.

According to an ABC12.com article, Alex explained that he was born with congenital emphysema, a rare disease. "Only about 100 people get it each year throughout the whole entire world," he said. "So I wanted to give back, but I didn't know how. So I took what I love, which was music, and I gave back to them."

Wednesday's proceeds will help offset the costs of the new song Alex is recording to benefit CMN Hospitals.

During the CMN Hospitals Telethon, amazing families will share stories about how Hurley made all the difference in the lives of their miracle children. 100% of the money raised during this 10-hour broadcast will stay right at Hurley to help the infants and children it serves from the 15-county CMN Hospitals region.
