Hurley Medical Center is Hospital of Choice for Michigan Warriors Hockey Team

FLINT – Hurley Medical Center is proud to announce that we have formed a unique partnership with the Michigan Warriors Junior A Hockey Club, North American Hockey League (NAHL) and are the medical home for these student athletes requiring medical care, off the field.

“Because Hurley is a Level I Trauma Center and the region’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center (comprising Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee Counties) and Children’s Hospital, it’s vital that orthopedic surgeons and pediatric specialists are available at all times. I am so thrilled that Hurley has become the hospital of choice for the Warriors’ athletes. Hurley Children’s Hospital has established itself as the state-of-the-art choice for orthopedics, rehabilitation and pediatric services in the region. From a higher level of patient care to the expertise of our surgeons, Hurley is here to help patients regain mobility and return to active, full lives. This is a win-win situation,” says Dr. Matthew Sardelli, MD, Michigan Warriors Team Physician and Hurley Orthopaedic Surgeon.

“As part of a major teaching medical center, Hurley Medical Center is devoted to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and diseases of the body’s musculoskeletal system. Our skilled physicians combine their vast experience with the latest technology to provide personalized care of bone and joint problems that affect a patient’s comfort and ability to function,” adds Cathy Metz, PT, MBA, Service Line Administrator, Musculoskeletal and Orthopedics.

"It is a real comfort to know that medical care of the highest quality is just minutes away from our athletic facilities. The relationship we have formed with Hurley Medical Center involving on-site athletic trainers and fitness activities at Hurley Health and Fitness Center has already established a bond between our two institutions. We know that the expertise of the Hurley Medical Center staff will be invaluable," says Moe Mantha, Coach, Michigan Warriors Junior A Hockey Club, NAHL.

“We are so pleased to be able to provide membership for these athletes at Hurley Health and Fitness Center, the region’s premier and only medically based fitness facility.
