June 7-Faith Yassick of Flushing, MI is the Grand Prize Winner of Hurley Medical Center's “Mom’s the Word” Contest, held throughout May. The story submitted by Faith's two daughters, Maria and Elizabeth, was the winning Facebook "Showcase Story" with the most "LIKES."

In the words of Maria and her little sister, Elizabeth:

“Our mom always gives back her time and talent to those who need it. She is a very selfless person," said Elizabeth Yassick. "She is really funny and has a kind heart." Added sister Maria Yassick, "I saw the contest in the newspaper. I told my little sister about it and we decided to make a video because it would be a great Mother’s Day gift as well."

Her daughter's video won Faith Yassick a $250 Visa Gift Card 

During the month of May, Hurley Medical Center’s Facebook page hosted the “Mom’s the Word” story contest. Photos, videos and letters were submitted by participants telling us about their amazing moms. Every Friday in May, Hurley selected two winners. One weekly winner was randomly drawn from all entries received that week. The second weekly winner was the best story of the week and was featured as a “Showcase Story” on the Hurley website. This winner was determined by the number of “LIKES” it received during the week it was posted. Each of these weekly winners received a $50 Visa Gift Card. Then on the last day of May, one Grand Prize winner was drawn - Faith Yassick!
