Elms Road Elementary Donates $1,000 To CMN Hospitals at Hurley

Flint, Michigan – Elms Road Elementary in Swartz Creek has more than $1,000 to donate to CMN Hospitals as the result of their recent coin drive. The "winning" class (i.e. one that raised the most money) was allowed to select a charity from a list of options and they chose Hurley! This fourth grade class's teacher, Jeremy Love organized the check presentation at the school, which will include 25 students on March 13, 2013 at Elms Road Elementary School at 1 p.m.

“I’m extremely proud of my students for their immense generosity and compassion. The students really took the idea of helping other children to heart and showed it by bringing in so much change! I’m happy the money my class and the whole building collected can go to such a wonderful cause,” Jeremy said.

“And we are pleased to let these students know that 100% of the money they raised will stay right at Hurley Children’s Hospital to help our kids,” said Linda Tracy-Stephens, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Director at Hurley. “It’s inspiring to all of us to see kids helping kids,” she added. Hurley Children’s Hospital is the most northern CMN Hospital in the state and serves a 15-county area extending north to Alpena, west to Mt. Pleasant, east to part of the Thumb and all of Genesee and Shiawassee Counties.
