The Hurley Difference: Taking the time to really care for a patient

These days it is very hard to find a doctor who is willing to meet with a patient and his/her family to explain a medical diagnosis, address their concerns, answer their questions, and counsel them about what to do next. But at Hurley, this is exactly what our Pediatric Neurologist and his staff do, every day. They truly care about their patients and never rush them through these important counseling sessions. Spending time with a patient and family–as much time as is necessary–and counseling them about a difficult condition such as new onset seizures or autism is as important here at Hurley as delivering the highest level of medical care. This patient- and family-centered approach to healthcaremakes families part of the medical team and includes them in the decision-making process.

Always at the cutting edge of medicine

At Hurley, staying up-to-date with the latest medical developments and treatments is vitally important. Our Pediatric Neurologist regularly attends national medical conferences and consults with colleagues in the field across the country so that he can consistently deliver the most advanced care to our patients. Also, if a patient might receive superior care for a specific condition at another medical facility, our staff will not hesitate to refer that patient there. At Hurley, our focus is always to do what is the very best for the patient.
