As the area’s only Level I Trauma Center and Michigan’s northernmost trauma facility, Hurley provides the highest level of emergency care to adults and children.

Trauma Services for Children

The Trauma Center at Hurley Children's Hospital has been verified as a Level I Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons. Our dedicated, on-site team of board-certified surgeons and highly trained medical professionals deliver specialized, state-of-the-art trauma care to critically injured patients when time is of the essence.   • 24-hour coverage by board certified attending trauma surgeons 
  • 24-hour coverage in all key surgical disciplines: orthopedic; plastic; vascular; ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology); maxillofacial; and neurosurgery
  • 24-hour coverage by in-house anesthesiologist
  • 24-hour coverage for interventional radiology
  • Region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Region’s only Burn Unit
