Out of 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Hurley Medical Center won a national Xbox Game Room Makeover contest, thanks to our overwhelmingly supportive community.

In Hurley's Xbox Game Room, kids undergoing treatment can relax, have fun, and just be kids. That in itself is a miracle.

For Patients

Undergoing medical treatments and procedures, and just being in the hospital, are often very scary experiences. To make sure you and your family have a pleasant and positive experience while you’re here at Hurley Medical Center, we’ve created a group of programs that are fun, caring, educational, and possibly life-saving. Click on the links below to find out more.

Child Life Services

The goal of Child Life Services is to help make your medical experience easier on you and your family. By hanging out with you and talking with you, Child Life workers will discover your likes and dislikes, interests and fears. Then, they will come up with ways to help you cope with what you’re going through.

Xbox Game Room

Did you know that Hurley has a room where you can hang out, play, and forget that you’re in the hospital? If you’re 10 or older, there’s a place where you can just have fun and be a kid. It’s the Xbox Room, it’s on the 9th floor, and if you haven’t been, you’ve got to check it out. Click here for more info.

Injury Prevention

Most injuries, accidents, and sadly, deaths occur because the people involved are not aware of safe habits and routines. To get this life-saving information out into the community, Hurley’s Injury Prevention  team members are constantly reaching out to the kids and families of this area, teaching them what they can do to prevent injuries. Partnering with schools, police and fire departments, community groups, car dealerships, and countless local businesses, Hurley’s Injury Prevention Programs are making great strides at promoting safe habits and keeping our community healthy.

5-2-1-0

Obesity, diabetes, and the many health problems caused by these two conditions are far too common in young people in Genesee County. That’s why at every event, presentation, or health fair, Hurley Center for Health Outcomes staff promotes 5-2-1-0, a healthy eating and exercise plan that helps kids learn how to eat nutritional foods, be more active, and lead healthier lives.
